Revolutionizing the Way Entrepreneuers Manage Their Own Public Relations

How DIY PR reaches beyond traditional applications.
May. 30

Last fall I spoke to a group of women enrolled in the entrepreneurial training program of PALS (Partnering Ambassadors for Life and Service). The PALS program provides GED and vocational training as well as various life skills courses to Athens women in need. Their classes have ranged from CPR and first-aid training to photography and, you guessed it, DIY PR. Later that week I wrote about my day with these inspiring women here. This week they landed the cover of Flagpole magazine, a weekly publication in Athens, Georgia. Their story and new initiative, a partnership with the Athens music scene, is detailed in this full page feature. Way to go, women! You’ve given me new motivation to continue to carry the DIY PR torch. It’s so important for others to hear your story, to see your strength.
